CO2 Aquarium Diffuser Set

The Dupla CO2 diffuser set consists of a CO2 diffuser with suction cup holder, a CO2 bubble counter with suction cup holder, a safety valve as well as 1.5 meters of CO2 hose for connection to your CO2 tap.

A sufficient supply of CO2 from the aquatic plants in the aquarium is absolutely necessary, since CO2 supplies the important nutrient carbon for the plants. Through the CO2Dupla diffuser, CO2 is supplied in sufficient quantities for aquariums up to 160 litres. CO2 escapes through the CO2 diffusion plate in tiny bubbles of CO2 gas. The fine CO2 bubbles diffuse into the aquarium and thus ensure optimum CO2 uptake by the plants. Please note that the diffusion plate requires a certain initial pressure to start its function due to the CO2 bubbles that accumulate and initially supplies a larger amount of CO2 to the aquarium once. Wait for this effect without increasing the number of bubbles, otherwise you will have to reduce the number of bubbles again. Check the CO2 content in the aquarium with a permanent CO2 test. Adapt the need for CO2 by increasing or reducing the amount of CO2 bubbles in the aquarium.

Tip: Because CO2 is saturated at night by the activity of microorganisms (e.g. filter bacteria), exhalation of fish and also by respiration of plants (plants need light for CO2 assimilation ), a supply of CO2 at night is not necessary and can even lead to a critical excess of CO2 in the aquarium due to the great abundance of fish or very high activity of microorganisms. For this reason we recommend the addition of a CO2 night shut-off (CO2 Dupla solenoid valve, which is coupled with the lighting time switch.
