The FLUVAL C mechanical filter is designed to achieve maximum performance. Enlarged surface area and optimal residence times provide superior filtration.


Fluval C filtration scheme

In the first mechanical stage, the foamex retains the large particles. During the second mechanical stage, the dense polyester layer filters out fine debris. In the third stage, chemical stage, activated carbon absorbs odors, discolorations and unwanted impurities. The fourth stage is the first of the two biological stages, in which the filter prevents debris from entering the biological stages. Its tissue core provides an enormous biological surface. During the fifth stage, the second of the biological stages, the C-Nodes enhanced biological drip chamber, enriched with oxygen, rapidly decreases toxic ammonia and nitrites to create a healthy aquarium.

Delicate fish and plants need a smooth flow of water. The Fluval C2 mechanical filter is equipped with a patented refiltration control system. This characteristic allows the mechanical filter to reduce the flow of water and thus, at the same time, increase the time that the filtration remains inside the filter, so that the aquarium water is cleaner.
