There are no metal parts in contact with the dog's skin and the aiming point is well below the nose and away from the eyes.

One particular feature of the new HALTI Optifit that is not shared by other head collar designs is that it has a muzzle action to close the dog's jaws.


The HALTI makes training and behavior modification for dogs convenient and safe. It can be used in a variety of ways: either as a passive means of simply stopping dogs from pulling, or as an active training aid.


Handlers can gently steer the dog's head into desired positions which can then be rewarded and linked to a command associated with that position, for example "sit".
