Urinary tract disease in dogs is often caused by the formation of mineral-based crystals and stones in the urinary tract that can cause discomfort, blood in the urine, and even a blockage that can be life-threatening. In dogs, struvite crystals are usually caused by urinary tract disease.
Hill's Prescription Diet s/d has been formulated by veterinarians to help eliminate struvite crystals and stones in your dog. Struvite forms result from urine that is saturated with protein, calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium combined with improper urinary pH.
