JBL PRO Aquatest REFILL K
The JBL Potassium Test is used for the routine measurement and control of the potassium content. This test is suitable for freshwater aquariums , ranging from 2 to 15 mg/L (ppm).
In seawater, the concentration of potassium is around 390 to 400 mg/L, but it is only consumed in small amounts.
Too high a potassium content can become dangerous for certain sensitive animals such as shrimp.
Potassium is an essential plant nutrient that is rapidly consumed. A potassium deficiency is synonymous with stagnant plant growth and the appearance of holes in the leaves.
We recommend that you first measure the potassium content of your aquarium water daily.
You will be able to determine the needs of the plants and carry out an adequate dosage of the fertilizer. You can then proceed to routine measurement at longer intervals.
For good plant growth, the parameter should be approximately between 5 and 10 mg/L, and for aquariums with high light intensity (illuminance from around 1W/L) between 10 and 20 mg/LI.
How to use
Fill a test tube with water to be tested, add the reagents, pour the cloudy test water into the special test tube until the cross below is no longer visible, read the amount, the number corresponds to K in mg/l .
