It is indicated for manually rearing, from the moment the quills appear (approximately 20 days), those parrot species that require high-fat diets: yacos, macaws, eclectus, poicephalus... Its use is recommended until the moment of emancipation.
In the weaning phase, it will be gradually replaced by solid food.

The PSITTACUS High Energy Porridge 17/20 formula is a continuation porridge.
Contains 17% protein and 20% fat.
Contains vegetable fat.
Indicated for these species: palm oil. It also contains papaya, which favors digestive transit.
Usual consumption:
As a guideline, in each feed, parrots ingest 7 to 10 ml of porridge for every 100 g of weight. The number of shots per day depends on the species of parrot and its age.
Preparation of the porridge:
Put a measure of porridge in a bowl and add warm mineral water until the texture is creamy (neither liquid nor pasty). This is important to achieve proper nutrition and digestive transit.
The resulting porridge should be warm to the touch. The use of the microwave is not recommended. The leftover porridge in each feeding must be discarded.
Recommendations:
It is convenient to make sure that one hour before each meal the parrot's crop is completely empty. We recommend supplying the porridge with a syringe with a soft probe.
This is the safest and cleanest method. It is advisable to stimulate the animal by lightly pressing the lateral corners of the beak to provoke swallowing movements, before inserting the probe.
