Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets Feline UR Can
Wet food for cats that helps in the management of feline lower urinary tract diseases .
The two most common causes of feline lower urinary tract disease are idiopathic cystitis and urinary stones , accounting for up to 80-90% of cases.
To treat cystitis in cats, environmental enrichment, stress reduction, encouraging water consumption and, in the most serious treatments, treatment with analgesics and amitriptyline are recommended.
There are two types of urinary stones : struvite (magnesium ammonium phosphate) and calcium oxalate, which represent 80% or more of feline urinary stones. Currently, the prevalence of struvite and oxalate urinary stones are similar. While struvite stone formation is sensitive to urine pH (crystalloids are much less soluble in alkaline urine), oxalate crystal formation is much less influenced by urinary pH.
To prevent them, this food contains a very low level of fat , which controls obesity in cats, this leads to a significant improvement in the formation of kidney stones.
It also contains an optimum level of proteins that promote a better assimilation by our cat of the same and maintain the PH level at adequate levels.
