This cartridge performs chemical filtration. Formed by a porous material impregnated with activated carbon (neutral pH). This Eheim filter material absorbs dissolved toxic substances and drug residues, dyes and odors and impurities keeping the water clean and crystal clear.

For a perfect maintenance of the aquarium water, you must change the filter materials regularly. Change the activated carbon every 6-8 weeks , depending on the population of fish in the aquarium. Never change all cartridges at the same time, to avoid destroying the beneficial bacterial population in the aquarium
