Indications:
All heart diseases (stages I to III). For phase IV, Cardiac Canine moist is recommended due to its limited sodium content.
Hypertension.
Contraindications:
Gestation, lactation, growth.
Sodium deficiency states.
Pancreatitis or a history of episodes of pancreatitis.
Hyperlipidemia.

Treatment duration:
The diet should be started from the onset of heart failure symptoms. The dietary treatment can be continued throughout the life of the dog.
Flavanols (a special type of polyphenols) are involved in the fight against oxidative stress; they also improve tissue perfusion, acting on blood vessels.
Sodium limitation reduces the workload of the heart. Potassium and magnesium levels are tailored to optimal clinical levels.
Early Cardiac has a low concentration of phosphorous, considering the associated risk of chronic renal failure.
L-carnitine and taurine are essential elements for the function of myocytes and, in addition, promote the contractility of the heart.
Additional Information:
Animals with heart disease generally exhibit decreased appetite and weight loss. Thanks to its high palatability and its unrestricted level of energy and protein, Early Cardiac is adapted for the maintenance of optimal body weight.
