Description
Indications:
Dissolution of struvite stones.
Management of recurrences of struvite and calcium oxalate stones.
(In older cats it is recommended that a check of renal function be performed prior to administering Urinary S/O Feline). Important: in case of recurrent idiopathic cystitis, Urinary S/O Feline wet food is preferable.
Contraindications:
Gestation, lactation, growth.
chronic renal failure, metabolic acidosis.

Treatment duration:
For the dissolution of struvite uroliths, a dietary treatment of 5 to 12 weeks duration is required. To prevent recurrences of urolithiasis, treatment should be continued for at least 6 months, and a veterinary examination should be carried out. After treatment, we recommend: Young Male S/O, Sking Young Male S/O, Young Female S/O, Skin Young Female S/O, Mature S/O or Senior S/O.
Urinary Feline effectively dissolves struvite stones.
Unsaturated urine is an environment where urinary crystals cannot precipitate. This prevents the development of struvite and oxalate stones.
Urinary dilution decreases the concentration of struvite and oxalate stones. An increased urine volume also contributes to bladder maintenance.
Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), naturally present in healthy bladder mucosa, are decreased in idiopathic cystitis. This decrease, responsible for greater permeability, facilitates access to germs, toxins and ions, causes inflammation and the stimulation of pain sensitive receptors.
Additional Information:
Influence of sodium levels on urine volume. Urinary S/O: the first choice when uroliths are not identified.
