Prime is the most complete and concentrated conditioner for freshwater and marine aquariums. Prime removes chlorine, chloramine and detoxifies ammonia. Prime converts ammonia into a safe, non-toxic form that is easily removed by the aquarium's biofilter. Prime can be used during the aquarium cycle to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. Prime detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, allowing the biofilter to remove them more efficiently. It will also detoxify heavy metals found in tap water to optimal concentration levels. Prime is non-acidic and will not affect the Ph level . Prime will not over activate skimmers. Use it at startup and every time you add or replace water.

When transporting or quarantining fish, use Seachem StressGuard. When adding new fish, use Stability. Both products are ideal for use with Prime.

Prime is the second most concentrated dechlorinator on the market after our own aquavitro alpha. A single 100ml bottle will treat 3785 liters of tap water. Prime will remove chlorine and chloramines from tap water supplies.

Prime also contains a binder that makes ammonia, nitrite and nitrate non-toxic. It is very important to understand how those two functions work together. All dechlorinators work through a chemical process known as reduction. In this process, dissolved chlorine gas (Cl2) is converted to non-toxic chloride ions (Cl-). The reduction process also breaks the bonds between the chlorine and nitrogen atoms in the chloramine molecule (NH2Cl), freeing the chlorine atoms and replacing them with hydrogen (H) to create ammonia (NH3).

Instructions for use

Use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 200 liters of new water. For smaller volumes, please note that each cap thread is approximately 1 mL. It can be added to the aquarium directly, but it is better if it is mixed with new water first.

If adding directly to the aquarium, base the dosage on the volume of the aquarium. The smell of sulfur is normal. For exceptionally high chloramine concentrations, a double dose can be safely used. To detoxify nitrite in an emergency, up to 5 times the normal dose can be used. If the temperature is below 30°C (86°F) and chlorine or ammonia levels are low, use a half dose.
