sera siporax ® is a fully biological filter medium for all indoor, outdoor and drip filter systems as well as for garden pond filters. The settling surface for bacteria of 1 liter of sera siporax ® is equivalent to that of 34 liters of ceramic filter medium. Therefore, 1 liter of sera siporax ® provides more than 200 liters of crystal clear and biologically clean aquarium water. sera siporax ® is suitable for small filters. To avoid coarse impurities caused by suspended substances, use sera biofibres and sera perlon for filtration as pre-filter media.
sera siporax ® provides the anaerobic bacteria with a high proportion of tunnel structures with open pores, which allows the bacteria to be supplied with nutrients and very small amounts of fresh water. Inside the tunnels the proportion of oxygen is very low, which encourages the bacteria to dissociate nitrate to obtain enough oxygen. In this way they continuously break down nitrate, and the aquarium water remains nitrate-poor. With 1 liter of sera siporax ® the same performance in terms of biological decomposition is achieved as with approx. 34 liters of ceramic filter material.
