Black Alder Cones Aquarium Treatment
Our Alder Cones are cones harvested from the alnus (Alnus glutinosa).
This product produced by nature is collected exclusively in places where nature is still nature, that is, where humans have not had a harmful influence.
Why are alnus cones so special?
Alder Cones are excellent suppliers of important humic substances and tannins.
Humic substances are responsible for promoting plant growth in the aquarium (they add nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur to the water), the pH value is gently lowered and the water obtains a natural crystalline colour. Just as many of our inhabitants in the aquarium prefer it in its habitat of origin. Even for animals that don't come from these regions, the Alder Cones have much more to offer.
Tannins have the positive property of naturally inhibiting harmful pathogens such as bacteria and fungal spores for your animals.
Therefore, the use of our Alder Cones is also ideal if you want to encourage the reproduction of your fish. Thanks to the effect of black water, many animals are ready for the spawning process. Thanks to the fungus-inhibiting tannins, milk mycosis is largely prevented. After the birth of the little ones, it can also be observed that they develop and grow considerably better as well as look for infusoria in the Alder Cones, which serve as food.
Also crustaceans and many other animals gladly seek out the small cones to feast on, scratch or hide in.
? promote the vitality and well-being of your animals
? natural coloration of the water ? essential for many species
? slight reduction and stabilization of the pH
? gentle removal of unwanted bacterial growth
? fungal inhibitor to prevent fungal infections and milk mycosis
? crustaceans, crabs and loricariids gladly use it as an additional food and hiding place
Put the Alder Cones directly into the aquarium water. 1 cone is enough for approx. 10-20 litres. In a few minutes the cones are deposited at the bottom of the aquarium. It is there that in a short time they give up their active substances to the water. Every 2-3 weeks the Alder Cones should be renewed.
The old cones can be kept in the aquarium as additional food for crabs or crustaceans or recycled.
Our Alder Cones have an unlimited shelf life when stored dry.
Since they are a purely natural product, differences in shape, color and size may occur.
